November is over, and now the most frequent question is where to go in Emilia in December? If November is the month of gastronomy with many special events, December see the towns and cities give themselves over to the festivities, with trees, cribs and Christmas markets. We have put together a list of Christmas events across the provinces of Parma, Reggio Emilia and Piacenza that you should not miss. Obviously, this information is constantly being updated.
PARMA
Lighting of the Christmas tree in Piazza Garibaldi, Saturday 8 December at 5pm

The Christmas market in Piazza Ghiaia, on 9,16, 23 and 24 December from 9am to7.30pm, with an artisanal market, music, and on the 9th tasting sessions of the famous “Tortél Dóls” of Colorno, and much more, organised by Biebi Eventi.
Where to park your camper
You should park in the city’s rest-area and use the convenient shuttle bus to reach the city centre.
In the province of Parma
the whole town of Corniglio on 8/9 December will be in holidays mood, based on the famous typical Christmas cake, the Spongata. Father Christmas will help entertain the toddlers, with labs for older children.
REGGIO EMILIA
on Saturday 8, 15 and 22 December, Piazza Fontanesi (in the city centre) will host the famers’ market, with direct sale from the agricultural companies of Reggio Emilia.
In Piazza Prampolini on 9/15/16 and 22 December, there will be Christmas in the Square, the classic Christmas market full of artisanal products and the best traditional and typical foods the region has to offer, available direct from the producers.
Saturday 8 December from 9am-8pmin Via Emilia santo Stefano, where will be the artisanal market, including artisanal art.
Via Emilia San Pietro will host the Christmas market on 22/23/24 December, full of typical regional products and entertainment for children.
There are many other activities for children, such as the “colours and stars” inside the Palace of the Museums in via Spallanzani on Sunday 16 December, a creative lab centred on light and movement. The Panizzi library in via Farini will host “Father Christmas’s special sledge” on Saturday 8 December, a trip under the night stars. Meanwhile from 15 to 24 December, Piazza Martiti del 7 Luglio will host Santa’s Village, perfect for children who can deliver their letters to Santa and have their picture taken. A little train will also leave from the square, offering a minitour of the city.
The ice-rink will have afternoon and evening events.
Guided tours of the Tower of Bordello, Saturday 15 and 22 December, a unique chance to admire the Reggiana panoroma from 51m up.

PIACENZA

Each Saturday and Sunday at Piacenza Expo until 6 January 2019, you can the Christmas Village, where you can share the colours, the pleasure and the music of Christmas with your children. Events in the province of Piacenza
At Grazzano Visconti you will find a rich calendar of events, such as Santa Claus’ famous walk on 16 December; the Santa Claus mime show on Saturday 22 December and on Saturday 29 December in the afternoon, the “Magic of Bubbles”. For more information, click here.
In the historic centre of Nibbiano in the Val Tidone, on Sunday 9 December, from 10am-6pm, you can find the Christmas market. In the afternoon, there is the Magic Sphere of Christmas, an animation for children with Ciccia Pasticcia, face-painting, balloon sculptures and obviously the arrival of Saint Lucia.
In Bobbio, 9 December will host the Snail Festival.
