The Garfagnolo social dairy, in via Garfagnolo 8 in Monteduro di Castelnovo Monti, produces and sells dairy products from herds in the highest parts of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennine National Park. One of its specialities is Parmigiano Reggiano made with milk from the herds at Valbona, the highest permanent settlement in the entire Reggio Appennines.
This unique and unspoilt environment, with its mountain flowers and grasses, allows the cows to produce milk of an exceptional quality: most of the year, the cows are free to graze where they want. This makes the Mountain Parmigiano Reggiano a unique part of our regional cuisine. The social dairy at Garfagnolo has a shop inside that sells not just its own products, but also other excellent items made in the surrounding areas.
