Today we will discuss sport and a place where camper rest-areas come tomorrow to make a truly exciting combination! Let’s start with some questions:
Do you know Disc Golf ?
Have you ever done an hour of Dog Training with your four-legged friend?
Have you ever tried an E-bike?
Have you ever played Soft-Air?
Do you know about Pet-Therapy and integrated horse-riding?
For some months now, there has been a camper “rest area” where you can enjoy all of these are more, by camper or in a tent, or simply relax in the natural habitat. It’s not a campsite, but it’s equally inaccurate to call it a simple Camper Rest Area.
Description
Let’s start at the beginning: an opening in the mountains that leads onto a small lit road that penetrates the woods up a slope. Suddenly, at the end of the slope, you are presented with a beautiful open space with breath-taking views.
25 lit camper spaces, all with electricity
Washing facilities with changing rooms, showers and lockers.
WIFI and video-surveillance across the whole area
automated In and Out points
easy to use magnetic swipe-cards for payments and services
Sports: what to do
Golf at the Rest Area
Is this enough to convince you??
A piece of advice: burn off all your negative energy and stress and recharge your batteries, by taking advantage of all the sports on offer, or simply take a walk along the paths in the woods in the 13 hectares that make up the “rest-area”. We suggest getting closer to your family and friends with a round of 9-hole Disc Golf, an entertaining and fun walk of maybe 1500 metres in total.
The rules? You have to throw a frisbee into nine baskets from varying distances, and play as you would golf, i.e. You tee off, count your strokes and lots of fair-play. You don’t believe us? Well, let’s just say that this sport was born in the 1970s and there are even European and World Championships.
At this point, you will definitely want to know where all this is!
We will reveal the mystery, and tell you that we are talking about the Area Tarolli at Gotra di Albareto in the woods of the Parma Appennines.

We suggest that you find a spare weekend, gather together some friends and enjoy this unique and beautiful experience.
Some advice:
The whole Appennines is worth a vist, and here we are above Borgotaro, a few kilometres from Area Tarolli. From here you can easily reach Albareto, Bedonia, and Compiano with its Castle. We have prepared an itinerary for those who want to discover these Valleys: the Parma Appennines by camper
