da parma al monte fuso in camper

From Parma to the Monte Fuso Park in camper

The road to Monte Fuso is full of interesting points along the way, above all Monticelli Terme, the perfect location to relax and pamper yourself at its spa, thanks to its sulphur and bromoid waters.

Continuing along the road, we arrive at Montechiarugolo, which features one of the Ducal Castles, still inhabited today, You can book a visit. Next we reach Tortiano, where we have the Ziveri Claudio Ham factory, ideal for those who want to discover authentic Parma Ham. The nearest campsite is at Traversetolo, a pleasant town which sports the largest and most beautiful Sunday morning market of the entire province.

On the hills of Traversetolo, we have the Oinoe Winery which produces prestigious Emilia wines and that is open to the public for guided tours and tasting sessions. If you now continue along Strada Provinciale 71 past Castione Baratti, you will find the road for Bazzano on the right: Bazzano is a small town that we strongly advise you to visit, above all for its splendid countryside and stunning fields. You should also visit the little Pieve which is even more beautiful in December, when the town is transformed into the City of the Cribs, glittering with a thousand lights.

Now head towards Neviano degli Arduini on Strada Provinciale 41 which twists and turns amid splendid greenery towards Scurano, a very lively hill town made up nearly completely of houses rebuilt in stone, and where the young people spend thier summers dividing their time between the local swimming pool and the fairs organised by local community groups each year between June and August.

But before Scurano, there is the turnoff for the Monte Fuso Park, final destination of this itinerary. The Park hosts a faunastic and naturalist oasis, where there are more than 60 species to see. It also offers a wide range of activities:

  • excursions along the CAI network

  • MTB excursions with more than 70 km of cyclepaths

  • Traditional archery

  • orienteering and other nature-based activities.

There is a visitor centre and an information offer, plus a bar/restaurant, an equipped rest-area for campers, play-area for children, equipped picnic area, teaching room and meeting room.

In short, it’s the perfect place to immerse yourself in inspoilt natural beauty and enjoy a pleasant holidays with family and friends.
