Centro Studi e Archivio della Comunicazione CSAC

CSAC – Centre for the Study of Communication in Parma

The Communication Centre and Archive (CSAC) is a research centre at the University of Parma, created by Professor Arturo Carlo Quintavalle in 1968. Right from the start, it aimed to bring together a wide collection of art, photographs, architectural drawings, design, fashion and graphics, and the organisation of exhibitions, and publications of catalogues..

In 2007 it moved to the Abbazia di Valserena, also known as “Certosa di Paradigna”, a few kilometres from Parma. It has five sections: art, photography, media, projects and culture, which house around 12 million items. Its objective is to bring together, conserve, catalogue and promote our cultural heritage. It also offers scientific consultancy services, to support teaching activities, research and projects and organises exhibitions. So far it has hosted over 100 exhibitions and produced as many publications.

It occasionally hosts temporary exhibitions on design, art, photography, and contemporary fashion.

We established a relationship with the CSAC in Parma in January 2017, such that our members can receive a discount on entrance tickets: presenting your membership card means you pay only €8.00 instead of €10.00.
