Description and services:

The Berceto rest-area has 20 spaces with drinking water, discharge point, toilet facilities also suitable for the disabled, a picnic area and a childrens’ play area.

It is perfect for nature lovers, and people who love the traditional flavours of the Parma Appennines. Berceto in fact, aside from being an important staging point on the old Roman Via Francigena, is also well-known for its mountain cooking, based on porcini mushrooms, chestnuts and of course Parmigiano Reggiano.

Prices:

It costs 5 euro daily (except for the toilet facilities) or 7 euro daily (including the toilet). Campers are asked for a 20 euro deposit.

Where it is:

In Via San Francesco di Sales, in Berceto, in the heart of the Parma Appennines. It is halfway between Parma and La Spezia, and so it is known as the mountain town closest to the sea.
