Camper itinerary between Parma and the Appennines

We would like to take advantage of the excursion of our friends at the Terre Emerse excursionist guides to suggest a camper intinerary between Parma and the Appennines. This is a voyage from the city to the mountain, from culture to nature, and represents a perfect weekend seeking peace and quiet.

Our itinerary

  • arrive Friday evening at the Camper rest-area at Parma.

  • Take the comfortable 23 bus on Saturday morning outside the rest-area, and head for the ctty centre: get off in Viale Mariotti, and nearby you will find Piazza Ghiaia.

  • From here you can visit many different museums, the Palazzo della Pilotta in piazzale della Pace, the Glauco Lombardi Museum, the Church of the Steccata; then turn into Piazza Garibaldi for the obligatory trip inside the Duomo and Battistero with the Palazzo Vescovile in Piazza del Duomo. Maybe you will not be able to do everything in go of course!

  • Back to rest-area with the same bus ticket, and head towards Corniglio and Rifugio Lagdei, about 70kmm away, which will take about 90 minutes.

  • Arrive and have dinner at Rifugio (if you have booked) or in your camper and then choose your excursion.

  • On Sundays you have different choices: you can go towards Langhirano to visit the Castle at Torrechiara resting at its base; or you can head towards Berceto along the Cisa road, stopping at Berceto to see a truly special place, and then rest in the rest area

  • From here, you can take the Cisa motorway, or continue your itinerary towards new objectives.
